Description
The MECMAR RT and RM family of dryers are cylindrical, vertical dryers with a large heat exchange surface and consequently low air speeds. The air velocity through the crop is low and dust emissions are therefore well below the limit.
The dryer has a galvanized frame structure inside and a perforated stainless steel plate cylinder shell outside.
The wet crop is fed from above by means of crop level probes.
Drying is carried out in the upper section of the cylindrical part, and crop cooling and heat energy recovery in the lower section. In order to prevent "moisture stratification" within the downward moving crop layer, baffles are installed half the height of the drying section, which push the crop moving near the inner wall to the outer slate plate and vice versa.
The air work required for drying is provided by a high-power centrifugal fan with axial air exhaust, operating at low noise levels.
The heat required is supplied by a gas burner head built into the air chamber inside the dryer. The extraction mechanism ensures a uniform flow of material, the speed of which is continuously regulated according to the moisture content of the crop.
