Pilous CTR 550 horizontal band saw

Pilous CTR 550 manual sawing machine with electric motor. One of the biggest advantages of manual machines is that they have powerful motors, yet are easy to move. They are designed for small to medium sized operations. PILOUS' smallest woodworking machine. Ideal for family farms, carpentry workshops or small sawmills. Very simple manual control. The controls are mounted on a mobile bridge, allowing the operator easier access to the workpiece when cutting. The height of the cut can be adjusted with a simple hand crank. This is the first machine type in the world that has been designed primarily for use with modern bimetal saw blades.

This has the following advantages:

- The bimetal saw band can cut all types of wood without sharpening or tooth repair.
- It is more productive and faster to use.
- Instant professional cutting is possible even without experience.
- The bimetal saw blade also cuts easily through any metallic materials (e.g. hooks, shavings, shotgun shavings, etc.).
- The carbide inserts mounted on three sides guide the band saw blade with maximum cutting precision and ensure a long service life.

The total power of the machine is 4 kW and this guarantees low running costs and easy connection to the mains. You can even use a wider 35 x 0.9 mm bimetal saw blade instead of the 27 x 0.9 mm saw blade. This, like the bimetallic saw blade for the metal industry, does not require any sharpening or tooth grinding. You can also equip the machine with standard saw blades, which are the same as the higher-end professional models. The larger teeth in these saw bands allow for increased productivity when cutting large diameter logs. The frame is equipped with cast aluminium idler wheels that balance vibrations. The circumference of the wheel is grooved. The groove has an interchangeable rubber-textile belt that creates an optimal contact surface between the wheel and the saw blade.

The precisely mounted running wheels are driven via a V-belt by a powerful professional electric motor, which is balanced to absorb vibrations. The tensioner wheel system moves inside a solid cast iron body, providing long life and precise adjustment for long-term operation.
