An excellent example of Aardenburg versatility is the Disc Mower, a hydraulically powered, skid-steer side-boom that can be mounted on any machine with three bolts. The Disc Mower is able to swerve around fruit trees and poles, so you can mow the area between trees. It needs 30-50 litres of oil per minute and requires 1 pair of hydraulic couplings and a so-called "gap oil drain" connection. The vertically rotating shaft is fitted with 2 blades, protected from impact by a metal flange. The overall width of the tool is 60 cm and the working width is 50 cm. The mower is able to follow the unevenness of the ground thanks to an ingenious solution - the parallelepipedal attachment with a screw.

It is recommended for use with stem crushers, but it can also be paired with the Trimmer frame, a multifunctional frame that can be easily attached to a forklift, tractor or even a loader. This frame also has the added advantage of hydraulic side tilting, which allows you to easily change the position of the scythe in relation to the line. Our customers typically install the disc-type detachable mower on row-crops for row-cropping, but it is also excellent for mowing underneath electric fences, close to fences and alongside them.

The deflection function is mechanical, using a spring. When the Disc Mower strikes an object (typically a tree or pole), a spring is tightened via a hinge point, allowing the mower to swerve, and when the resistance is removed, the spring pulls the machine back to its original position. The amount of deflection can be controlled by a stop screw.
