High yield, low consumption
Thanks to our design, the spoon chain does not act as a retracting chain, it does not hit the stem, but simply guides it towards the star knife, preventing premature grain loss. The speed of the spoon chain is 7.5-8.2 km/h, depending on the combine, which also gives the optimum harvesting speed. The adapter can reach higher harvesting speeds of up to 10-11 km/h, in which case the sprocket change is necessary to slow down the pulley rotation speed. The in-feed auger (the largest on the market with a diameter of 500 mm) can cope with intensive material flow without disruption or clogging. The angle of the line separators is adjustable. The power requirement of the adapter is extremely low, as one drive per row is sufficient.
Designed to reduce eye loss
The rotation speed of the in-feed auger is optimised for the harvesting speed, so it does not throw the seed into the combine but guides it in without damage. The OROS SUN has an exceptionally large seed-saving surface: we have increased the size of the auger trough and also designed a collecting surface on the plastic row separators.
Durable construction
The oil level in the engines can be checked through windows. Unlike most sunflower harvester adapters, the OROS SUN's shaker trays can be lifted up without removing the row separators, giving easy access to the spoon chain, chain tensioning and star knives. The adapter also has cleaning blades to keep the sprocket clean while working. The drive of the adapter and the line units are also equipped with a safety switch. The shaft crusher is driven by a closed gearbox.
Unconditional harvesting
One fixed and one active star knife per row is used to separate the sunflower heads. The scissor-type cut can push the stalk outwards during cutting, but the row units are designed so that the stalk can only go inwards and cannot be pushed outwards at the moment of cutting. The material flow was further optimised by symmetrical and centred shaker trays and spoon chains. Unlike competing adapters, the position of our mechanical stalk crusher is not behind the adapter, but underneath it, so that no uncoupling is necessary for harvesters with shorter bevel headers. With a minimum harvesting height of 60 cm, it can harvest even extremely low or even sloping sunflower stands.
Professional options
Our adapter with stem crusher is the only sunflower harvesting adapter with automatic, sensor-based ground tracking: the combine's slope and the position of the stem crusher are automatically adjusted to the slope.
The active sensor tracking automatically keeps the machine on the sowing line.
