Description
Dear Farmers!
Saphir mechanical seed drills
Large workloads are inevitable for both medium and large agricultural companies. However, such work peaks can be overcome with efficient seeding technology, such as that offered by the LEMKEN Saphir mechanical seeder. Both hydraulically suspended on the implement and with a three-point linkage (like the Saphir AutoLoad), both versions of the Saphir seeder are short and compact. A true all-rounder, for example in combination with implements such as the Zirkon rotary harrow or the Quartz cultivator. The large seed hopper and the precise working depth guarantee a high area output and a uniform crop. The LEMKEN Saphir can be fitted with double-disc coulters with rubber depth limiting wheels.
Depending on the type of tedder and the soil surface, a ploughing tine is available as an optional extra. The double-disc cultivator does an excellent job in both mulching and conventional cultivation. The double discs are offset to avoid clogging. The depth limiting wheel allows you to combine high working speed with precise sowing depth in all soil types and conditions - for optimum emergence.
Anyone who is switching from conventional to minimum tillage can count on the additional cost-saving potential of the LEMKEN Saphir.
Versatile drive concept
The Saphir 7 seed drill is equipped with a mechanical seed shaft drive.
- The seed drill is driven by a ground wheel via a drive shaft. The seed rate is controlled via an oil bath infinitely variable speed drive. Seed metering is simple and precise.
- The Easytronic seed monitoring computer controls and monitors the sowing process, providing data as a hectare counter and also a farm track control function.
In the case of the Saphir 8, speed is measured electronically and the sowing shaft is electrically driven. This allows reliable and accurate metering of the most varied seed types. With one calibration the seed rate can be adjusted.
- The electric motor and the task control computer are mounted in a protected place on the seed drill. The seed drill can be easily operated from the tractor driver's seat using the Solitronic display. The seed rate can be adjusted from the cab on the control panel while driving - all it takes is the push of a button.
The LEMKEN Saphir AutoLoad can be connected directly to the tractor's three-point linkage or operated in combination with a tillage implement such as a rotary harrow. When coupled to a rotary harrow or cultivator, the depth limiting roller keeps the seed drill at the correct height. The tractor's suspension arms perform the same function when no cultivator is used.
- This eliminates the need for support wheels on the seed drill as before, thus avoiding additional wheel marks in the sown crop.
- All coulters run in an equally prepared seedbed. There is no need for additional pressure rollers in front of the outer coulters.
- All windrows run at the same depth without the need to run the windrows at different soil pressures, so the seed is deposited evenly.
Suspended Saphir
The classic Saphir rests on the roller of the soil tillage implement.
- The whole drill is mounted directly in front of the roller. This means that the rotary coulter can more easily avoid obstacles.
- Thanks to the Saphir's advanced linkage system, the seeder can be lifted and moved forward at the same time. This reduces the need for lifting and allows parts of the field to be cultivated without sowing. All this without having to switch off the seeder.
Large seed hopper
The Saphir's large seed hopper has a capacity of 1,050 litres, which increases area performance and reduces downtime.
- The hopper's powder-coated elements are riveted together.
- The walls and bottom of the tank are steeply tapered. This means that even with small seeds there is hardly any residual seed. The hopper can be cleaned quickly and easily.
Strong filling position
The filling position supplied as standard is wide and strong. It is accessible from the left side via steps. The other staircase on the right side eliminates the height difference between the core tank and the trailer. You simply stand next to the trailer and you can load the seed drill. Distances and loading times are minimised.
- The filling height is only 70 cm from the front of the machine.
- The barrier guarantees safe working.
The Conti Plus dosing wheel consists of a combination of a small-core wheel and a larger-core wheel. The seed is continuously fed into the seed tubes.
- The two parts rotate together when feeding large seeds.
- The narrow part of the metering wheel rotates by itself when metering small seeds, for example when sowing rape.
- The separate metering wheel sections can be easily switched on and off with a screwdriver using the easily accessible red button.
High speed
Double-disc coulters
Together with the rubber depth limiting wheels, the double disc coulters guarantee precise sowing depth, even on uneven ground.
- The sowing depth remains constant regardless of the working speed.
- The depth control wheel compacts the soil around the seed, resulting in good seed-soil contact. Water retention and germination conditions will be ideal. Plants will start growing quickly and even in particularly dry conditions, emergence will be uniform with a high germination percentage.
Setting the sowing depth in DS version
The sowing depth of the twin-disc coulters can be infinitely adjusted by means of a spindle in the centre of the drill.
- By rotating the coulter bars, the position of the depth limiting wheels is changed in relation to the double disc coulters, thus changing the sowing depth. The coulter pressure can be adjusted separately from the sowing depth, which results in precise sowing depth, especially in varying soil conditions.
Precise seed coverage
The two-piece S-crown can be mounted behind the double disc coulters. The pressure and working intensity of the borer can be adjusted without tools. The two rows of drawn teeth ensure good straightening and seed coverage.
- On request, the S-cropper can also be supplied with hydraulic lifting. This makes it possible to work with or without a core cover.
Comprehensive function control
Core container sensor
If required, the on-board computer can be equipped with visual and acoustic alarms in case of low tank levels.
- The sensor, located in the tank, can be moved up and down and indicates the remaining level at any time.
- On slopes, another sensor detects in time when the core runs out on one side.
Pre-brewing pressure indicator
All LEMKEN Saphir seed drills can be equipped with a pre-emergence indicator.
- The two pressure indicator dials are controlled by the on-board computer with the cultivation paths. They are hydraulically operated and penetrate firmly into the soil. The marks they make are clearly visible even on compacted soils or in minimum tillage.
