UPUS conveyor belt potato picker (2 rows)
The UPUS conveyor belt potato digger (2 row) is a two-row machine mounted on a three-point suspension system and driven by the tractor's power take-off axle. The excavator is designed for tractors equipped with a Cat II and III suspension system.
For stable operation and transport, the excavator is equipped with wide-spaced road wheels. The properly positioned knife digs two adjacent rows and the side ploughs mounted in the machine cut off excess soil and stalk residues. The excavated bundle is then placed on the applicator belt.
As the belt moves and shakes, the bale is lifted and the soil is sifted through the conveyor belt, with the plant tuber being dug towards the back of the machine passing through at the same time.
The digging machine has one or two sieving conveyor belts with rubber covers to minimise the risk of damage to the dug potatoes.
The back of the digger has suitably profiled chute grates to guide the potatoes to the ground. The grates allow the dug-out tubers/roots to be positioned in such a way as to reduce the possibility of damage to the tuber/root by the tractor tyres during the next pass.
The pick-up can be fitted with a potato or vegetable adapter.
The machine can be used in plantations with a row spacing of 62,5-67,5 or 70-75 cm.
