Description
A chemical-free, non-burnt, sugar-free jam made from plums. A real vitamin bomb. As well as being delicious and juicy, plums are a real health-preserving fruit. Low in calories, it contains no saturated fats, yet it's rich in vitamins, minerals and other nutrients; it contains vitamin A and beta-carotene. Vitamin A is beneficial for vision, skin and mucous membranes.

It is also rich in vitamin B complex. Niacin, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid together help the body to metabolise proteins and fats.

The compounds in plums - fibre, sorbitol and satin - help the digestive system to metabolise and are used as laxatives.

The fruit is also rich in other minerals. These include potassium, iron and fluoride. Potassium is an important component of cells and body fluids, regulating heartbeat and blood pressure. Iron has a red blood cell-forming effect.
