Characteristics and uses:

Assas fodder peas are excellent as a stand-alone crop, with vigorous vegetative development usually towards the end of the cycle. It is advisable to combine Assas with a cereal grain (e.g. rye, triticale, oats). When combined with cereals, it can be harvested as a seed or as a silage. Assas produces a high amount of green matter with a high protein content, which makes it suitable for use as a high quality and fibre-rich feed. Assas can also be used as an intercrop, as a green manure, either on its own or mixed with other crops. It is suitable for both autumn and spring sowing. The sowing rate is 70-90 germs/m² as a stand-alone crop, 15-25 germs/m² in combination with cereals, and in a seed mixture according to the mixing ratios.
