Key features of PK-002:
- early sowing is well tolerated, with sowing starting from the flowering of the pear blossom, according to popular observations
- recommended sowing rate: 45-60 thousand hectares per hectare
- intensive, rapid growth after emergence
- develops a strong root system with several levels of supporting root systems
- good stem strength
- it is characterised by tall growth, reaching a height of 3 to 3,5 m, which makes it an excellent silage maize
- its high growth rate gives it good weed suppression, so that less successful weed control does not result in major yield losses
- as with PK-001, it is well adapted to extreme weather conditions, with large leaves that make excellent use of the little moisture in the air
- usually double-tubed for 45-50 thousand plants
- the average height of the tubes is 150-180 cm, depending on the growing conditions
- maize maturity: FAO 380
- ripening on green stalk
- good drainage
- characterised by unfurled ears at maturity
- number of rows per ear: typically 16-24
- number of grains per row: 38-52
- weight per hectolitre: 78 kg
- thousand kernel weight: 420 g
- yields of up to 20 t/ha under particularly good soil and nutrient conditions, with average rainfall

Variety: further selected from organic maize PK-001. It has a particular genetic value in terms of biodiversity due to its diversity in both height and ear positioning, as well as ear, kernel and ear colour, thus representing the force of nature, and is always successful in its inheritance.

PK-002 is suitable for propagation every year.

In selecting this variety, we have kept in mind that PK-001 should retain all the advantages of PK-001, allowing an even higher yield. This was achieved by adjusting the number of rows per tube to typically 16-24. High row count coupled with high tube density = record yield.

However, we also recommend this variety for silage. A robust, thick-stalked, tall-growing maize with large leaves, it can produce over 110 t/ha in silage at 70 000 t/ha.
