Key features of PK-003:
- early sowing is well tolerated, with sowing starting from the flowering of the pear blossom, according to popular observations
- recommended sowing rate: 45-60 thousand plants/ha
- intensive, rapid growth after emergence
- develops a strong root system with several levels of supporting root systems
- good stem strength
- it is characterised by tall growth, reaching a height of 3 to 3,5 m, which makes it an excellent silage maize
- its high growth rate gives it good weed suppression, so that less successful weed control does not result in major yield losses
- as with PK-001, it is well adapted to extreme weather conditions, with large leaves that make excellent use of the little moisture in the air
- usually double-tubed at 45-50 thousand plants
- the average height of the tubes is 150-180 cm, depending on the growing conditions
- maize maturity: FAO 350
- ripening on green stalk
- good watering
- characterised by unfurled ears at maturity
- the colour of the cobs is white
- the kernels are reddish in colour
- number of seeds per tube: typically 14-18
- number of grains per row: 38-52
- weight per hectolitre: 78 kg
- thousand kernel weight: 420 g
- yields can reach up to 15 t/ha under particularly good soil and nutrient conditions, with average rainfall

Variety: further selected from organic maize PK-001.

The yield of PK-003 is suitable for further production in all years. An excellent choice, due to its higher carotene content, it promotes better nutrient utilisation in all maize consuming animals, for example poultry meat and skin and eggs with a darker yellow colour. As the grains are not completely red in colour and are yellow on the top of the grain, they are also readily accepted by feed mills. Like our other varieties, it is characterised by a higher protein content (8-10%) compared to hybrid maize.
