SU ELLEN, a medium-large grain with really high yield potential, has become a real milestone in winter barley breeding. Thanks to its favourable characteristics, the new variety can be rapidly introduced in many barley-growing regions of Europe, and both operational and practical experience indicate the start of a real success story. In addition to its outstanding yield potential, SU ELLEN also attracts attention with its well above-average weight per thousand kernels. The six-row cassava has very good fertility conditions, with a structure capable of achieving record yields. The SU ELLEN is able to maintain its well-developed, wide and well-filled calves throughout the growing period thanks to its good stamina, which is due to its sturdy and strong, but very flexible straw. The high yield potential and strong generative tendency of the variety are also evident in very different agro-ecological conditions and its adaptability is excellent. It is able to make very active use of the growing season for a long time, regenerating early in the spring, developing rapidly and bushing vigorously. The leaves have an iron tissue, the leaf plates are broad and the foliage is very healthy, which is a result of its very good disease resistance. SU ELLEN allows competitive barley production under all conditions, using both the most intensive and conventional cultivation techniques.
