Description
The Sweet Two was developed to further improve the yield and yield security of Little Giant BMR sorghum by using a sugar sorghum hybrid blended with it. In 2022, it yielded 44.7 tonnes/ha in Zala County.

The Little Giant BMR silage sugar sorghum hybrid:
- 1.8-2 m tall, buggy sorghum
- 115 days growing period
- Low lignin content (2%), excellent organic matter digestibility (72.8%)

Sweet Betty is a sugar sorghum hybrid:
- 2.5-3 m tall, a hybrid sugar sorghum with pouches
- 115-day growing season
- Sugar content around 20%, increasing after flowering
- Below average lignin content, excellent organic matter digestibility, excellent leaf ratio
- Suitable for silo and biogas production

ADVANTAGE
Not prone to drooping, thanks to its blended nature, the smaller size of Little Giant and the stronger fibre strength of Sweet Betty. Sugarcane provides high yields and sugar content, while the BMR hybrid with bugas provides high starch content and good digestibility. Little Giant reduces the lignin content of the mixture and increases fibre digestibility. It produces optimal yields with higher yields compared to a sorghum hybrid.

CULTIVATION TECHNOLOGY
- Incubation period: approximately 110 days from hatching. Optimum harvesting when the eye of the bug sorghum is at the end of lactic ripening, at the very beginning of wax ripening.
- Sowing: sensitive to frost and cold. From mid-May at sowing depth, waiting for soil temperatures of 12-13°C.
- Seed rate: 8 kg/ha; 20-24 grains/m². Grain weight per thousand: 31 g.
- Sowing: 3-4 cm deep with a cereal drill, on a maize row spacing.
- Nutrient supply: the amount of nutrients in the maize can be reduced by 25-30% of the amount of nutrients typical of the crop.
- Soil/climate requirements: can be sown on average sorghum soils, tolerates drought much better than maize.
- Use: silage production, green manure.
