Description
PARADIES is a medium-mature, autumn-sown, forage-quality, six-row barley variety with unique, so-called unicoloured properties. It has many varietal characteristics that make it an excellent choice for today's modern agriculture.

The resistance of PARADIES barley to yellow dwarfing virus (res. BaYDV) and its outstanding tolerance to barley mosaic virus (tol. BaYMV) make it a solution to agronomic challenges such as maintaining risk-free early sowing (late September-early October) in applied technologies.

Early sowing results in the ability to exploit the enormous yield potential of the variety and the barley species with adequate yield security and stability, which is further enhanced by the excellent winterhardiness of the variety. Moreover, the viral vector insect pests (cereal aphids) that may visit the PARADIES stand will not become carriers of the barley yellow rust virus and will not be able to further infect other cereal crops.

PARADIES is in the top third of medium-large varieties, and its growing life and other varietal characteristics allow it to be used in very different growing regions and growing conditions throughout the country.

Its plant height is above medium (95-105 cm) in the most favourable years, its stamina is good, its bushing ability is excellent (a so-called compensatory variety), and it is not typically affected by stunted growth or breakage at the base of the canopy.

Stem consolidation is generally not required, but in very intensive production areas and technologies, winter barley is usually recommended to be treated in early spring (during the intensive and explosive growth) at the 1-2 node stem initiation stage of development for yield security.

PARADIES shows very good resistance to foliar diseases and therefore develops a so-called low fungicide demand crop.
