Description
The moisture content of the organic waste is reduced to about 45% by a gentle pressing process, and the energy-containing liquid substrate is fed into a biogas plant for energy use. The remaining solid fraction can be composted for recycling or used as feedstock for further energy use. Alternatively, the moisture content of the residual solid fraction is further reduced to about 8-10% moisture content by vacuum drying. The resulting dry fraction can be briquetted and used as a preparatory step for the production of bio-plastics or biofuels. During the process, the plastic bags are gently removed from the waste without any microplastics being loaded.
