**Penetrologger**

The penetration resistance shows how easily roots can penetrate the soil. Knowledge of this soil property is particularly important in agriculture and in rural and urban construction techniques. Penetration resistance is a mechanical variable whose value depends on a number of soil parameters, such as moisture content, density, the strength of the bond between mineral particles and the composition of the soil. A large number of measurements can be made with the penetrologger. The data are stored and analysed (1500 measured data).
